GMO Validation and Consulting services can increase your customer base. Period. End of discussion.Well, ok, let's discuss it.
Have you sometimes wondered why your internet pages don't bring enough business your way? Are you beginning to think that the whole hype about the Net is exactly that just hype? Well, you are on the right track to embracing the shopping mall of the future since you are reading this. Perhaps you need to read more to understand the difference between a web page and a web page.
There are millions of pages on the World Wide Web. Each of them aspires to be found and used by a targeted customer. In order to keep some semblance of order on the information superhighway, standards have been developed to keep these web pages readable and reasonably fast.
Believe it or not, as many as 90% of the web pages on line today, including many (if not most) major corporate web sites, do not validate or even meet ADA requirements. That is, they have simple coding oversights (or errors) that can keep some computers from displaying your web site as you intend it to be displayed. While it looks great on your computer, it may look rather silly on a computer your customer may be using. Simple coding errors can cause a lot of problems, from slow loading through a disorganized look. Perhaps even error messages when someone clicks on a link to one of your pages. In fact, in some extreme cases the customer may not be able to view it at all. (Example) Furthermore, incorrectly coded pages may be hard to catalogue by some search engines and thus effectively lose prospective customers for you.
Thanks to hundreds of user-friendly programs that you or your web designer can use to create your web pages, it is an easy and not very overly complicated task, these days. The most overlooked aspect of web design, however, is the simplicity and efficiency of the code. The easier the program is to use, the more complicated the code it creates, the slower the page is and the higher the chance that an insignificant error will cause significant problems.
We all know that heavy use of graphics can drastically slow down the load time of your pages, but did you realize that improper coding can as well? It is probably the most overlooked area of coding pages. The developer codes the page, checks it in a few different browsers and doesn't have the time nor the inclination to validate their code. If it appears to work in the browsers they test it in, they are satisfied. Then you don't get the traffic you think you should simply because it is taking too long for the user to view it. You can't always blame the graphics.
Why should you use a third party to analyze your site?
You have invested a lot of time and resources in your web pages and you only have one chance to make a good first impression. As always, the task of making sure that your first impression is a good one lies squarely on your shoulders. You owe it to yourself to have a third party certified, professional web developer analyze and validate your pages. Think of it as an investment in your company as well as in your own future.
What can we do for you?
As an answer to the constantly growing demand for consulting and web page repair services, our company offers independent, third party web site validation services. We will submit an objective report of all errors and incorrect HTML code that either cause or may be the cause of future problems.
We take a look at your pages, analyze its coding and give you a complete, detailed report you can forward to your webmaster. In essence, we "proof read" what you don't see, but is critical to the appearance of your web site. We can also look at your graphics to insure that they have been formatted for the fastest possible download time. And no, we don't want to take over your web designers' job. Our purpose is to point out any oversights that may have been made, giving you the peace of mind that your pages are not going un-noticed by some of your customers because of coding errors. Simply put, if a customer can't see your page, they can't (or won't) buy your product or service.
Once you receive our report and give it to your web designers, it's up to them (and you, of course) as to what they do with the information. The best thing would be, naturally, to immediately sit down and correct the errors and give your web site a chance to compete with the best of them.
You can find the answer to virtually any question you may have. But what if you don't know what the question is? We give you the answers to some very important questions you never even knew you should be asking.
- Validate
- To prove the HTML code is valid. That is, conforming to the specifications of HTML coding. The latest version being HTML 4.1.
- ADA
- American Disabilities Act. Responsible for, among other things, the handicapped person's rights. Rumor has it that (in the very near future) there will be a law stating that all commercial web pages conform to the disabilities act which will allow access for the disabled. Not as formidable as it sounds. If your pages validate now, they already conform. If not, you may have to have them re-coded to comply.
