Beautifying Valley LodgeApproximately two years ago, Brother Alan introduced me to a retired Brother from Plymouth. During our conversations he mentioned he was a retired carpenter and wanted to show me some work he had done in his home Lodge. He informed me he would like to do more of this work and would like it to be done in our Lodge.
I was impressed with the work he had done and said I would like to bring the information back to the Hall Association of our Lodge. We met several times and came up with a design that was brought to the Hall Association.
John's donation of the panels for the East sparked an interest among the Hall Association and the other Brethren, and the price we were quoted for finishing the Lodge was too good to pass up.
The process has taken more than a year with panels going up and coming down for adjustments. Many Brethren have given of their time and energy to work on this project. We are waiting for the final molding pieces to be made and put in place. While we are waiting we have begun the staining process. As we make more progress we will continue to keep everyone updated. We have attached photos of the work process as it has progressed.
There are several other projects that are in the works for this year. We need to paint the window frames, the front door frame, side/back doors, and the duct system for our hood (in the kitchen). Wrought iron railing needs to be sand blasted and repainted as well.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Cataldo (Ki) Garzella, S.W.
